Multiday Walking Holidays & UK Expeditions

A Weekend Expedition in the Moelwyns, Snowdonia
So you are interested in a Walking Holiday?
If you are then I've detailed below some things that you might want to think about:-
First the Goal – what do you want to achieve?
“Bag” Summits – the Welsh 3000’s, the English 3000’s, Yorkshires Three Peaks
Explore an area – such as the area around Cwm Idwal, or around Kinder Scout
Experience remote camping
Follow a “high level cross country route” such as “Snowdon to Cader Idris” across the Meolwyns & the Rhinogs
Follow some of Alfred Wainwright’s routes in the Lakeland fells
Ascents of more “technical” routes
Brush up on your navigation
Then the method
Two or more days walking in an area based in one location and travelling out either by foot or by other transport from that accommodation
Two or more days walking travelling between separate accommodation either carrying everything or arranging transport for the “luggage”
Two or more days “in the wilds”, wild camping overnight, taking everything needed
Obviously goal will impact on the accommodation & to a certain extent vice versa
And then the big one – how many days are you looking for?
All these need to be balanced against the expectations, experience and fitness of expedition members
Once all these are answered then all the practical preparations can be started on, kit, food, transport to and from, fitness levels etc
