About Me
Mark is an active Hillwalker & Mountaineer, a qualified Mountain Leader who has been leading groups in Adventures for the last 25 years.
 

Personal mountaineering has taken Mark all over the UK walking from the coast & moors of the Penwith Peninsular, to Cape Wrath and the wilds of the Outer Hebrides. He has climbed mountains in England, Wales, Scotland, France, Spain and Andorra.


He has lead groups all over the British Mainland, regularly in Snowdonia, Brecon Beacons & Peak District National Parks
 

Mark is a member of the following organisations:

British Mountaineering Council

Biography
Mark grew up in Cornwall with the Coasts and Moors as his playground. A member of the Outdoor Pursuits Club in Primary School, & taking part in County Youth Service training and expeditions to Snowdonia during Secondary School.

 

He has a 5 year old son and 3 year old daughter who both like to go on “expoditions”

 

Mark was a member of the Scout Movement progressing through Cubs, Scouts and Venture Scouts. He gained the Queen Scout Award with a series of water & land based expeditions!

 

Mark qualified and worked as a Sailing Instructor and later as a Yacht Skipper in the Mediterranean, since then Mark has been involved in youth work within the Methodist Church and Scouting. He is currently working with the 18-25 age group of Scouting in Leicestershire, as well as acting as Expeditions & Mountain Activities Advisor.

 

He has been leading & teaching in the hills & mountains of the UK for the last 15 years with clients ranging from Church Parties & Youth Groups, Adult Outdoors Groups as well as interested individuals.

 

Favourite Mountain:

Tryfan, Snowdonia

 

Unlikely to be seen in the Hills without:

A Buff

Comments

A variety of regular walks have been run which have both challenged and interested the attendees. Mark is always well prepared, even down to having a ready supply of raisins and energy food for the walkers.
