Mid Season

Essential Kit

Walking Boots - treated with waterproofing

Walking Socks – (At least socks that are not likely to blister in the boots)

Waterproof Top (Cagoule)

Rucksac (suggest 20-25 Litres)

Survival Bag – Either “Bivvy Bag” or “Orange Plastic Sack”

Personal First Aid Kit

Whistle

Small Torch & spare battery – preferably Head Torch

Spare Top (Light weight Fleece or similar) – packed in waterproof bag

Drink – at least 1 Litre

Lunch

Munchies – Dried Fruit etc

Pencil & Paper in plastic bag

Recommended Kit

Mobile Phone – switched off to preserve batteries & in waterproof bag

Spare Footwear & Socks for journey home – left in transport

Any Denim Clothing – especially Jeans (Jeans absorb water and get stiff & very heavy)

Kit lists are obviously a very personal & flexible thing. Needs vary from person to person additionally different areas and conditions demand different items of clothing and equipment.
