The Peak District - Britain's First National Park
The Peak District sits at the southern end of the Pennine Hill of England, those hills that form the backbone of northern England and run up to the Scottish Borders. The Peak District itself is surrounded by the cities of the industial north and has been shaped by their inhabitants. Once the preserve of the very wealthy, and the utility companies, these hills became Britain's first National Park being at the heart of the Right to Roam protests.

It still is probably the most accessible National Park in Britain in terms of people who can easily get into it, but it is a place of character, softness and wildness. There are places with crowds yet areas of lonely open vistas, away from it all

A place of real challenge
Walking in the Peak District
These are some of my favourite Peak District walks and are listed here as examples of walks available in the Peak District

Airwrecks & Open Moors

A 4 Hour Ramble/Scramble on Bleaklow investigating some of the Aircrashes of the 1940's
A rugged walk and a good introduction to the wilds of the Peak District & is a good chance to brush up some of your navigation skills

Eastern Edges Exploration

A full day on some of the popular and less frequented edges of the Eastern Peak District
The views are a must - You might see a scene from a film!

Edale Skyline

A Peak District Classic, either a one day epic or a two day expedition. A variety of accommodation options are available.

Kinder Surprise

A half day circular walk tackling the Kinder plateau from the West. A brilliant outing with spectaclar views and history too
