Bed & Breckfast & Hotels
I haven't stayed in a B&B in Snowdonia since the 1970s, & very few outside! So any experience I have isn't very relevant
 
I suggest that if you want bed and breakfast that you contact the Llanberris Tourist Information Centre (gwynedd.gov.uk tel. 01286 870 765)

Hostels

The Youth Hostelling Association maintains a good network of Hostels in the area.

 

I can highly recommend YHA Bryn Gwynant & YHA Idwal Cottage. (Idwal Cottage is a Self Catering only Hostel)

Snowdon Sherpa S1 from Llanberis - Pen y Pass(connections from Bangor station)
The Bus service from Betwys-y-coed to Pen-y-pass is Snowdon Sherpa S2

For starts at YHA Idwal Cottage
Snowdon Sherpa S6 from Bethesda to Betwys-y-coed with connections to Bangor
 
Day Tickets on Sherpa buses are £4.00
Single Tickets are available as I discovered last time!
Free Bus passes would seem to be valid - this is NOT from personal experience
 
Private Cars
Parking is limited in Snowdonia - particularly at the popular starting points.
The Parking Charge at Pen-y-Pass Carpark is £6.00 for more than 4 hours
 
Park and Ride is available on the Sherpa Bus Network
Parking is £4 and gets one free ticket on the Sherpa Buses
