CONDITIONS of BOOKING & PARTICIPATION

Definitions
The Provider – Mark Wormald

The Client – the individual or organisation making the booking
Activity – the course, guided walk or expedition referred to in the booking
Leader – Mark Wormald or his agent designated to lead the activity booked

  1. Deposits are non returnable.
  2. Bookings are only confirmed when deposits / payments are received by the provider and the payments cleared.
  3. The balance of the booking fees must be paid 14 days prior to commencement of your activity. In the event of failure to pay the balance the Provider is under no obligation to hold your booking.
  4. Should you cancel within 7 days of the commencement of your activity no refund will be payable.
  5. Should an activity be cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances you will be informed immediately and offered either full refund or an alternative date. The Provider shall not be liable for any activity related expenses (such as travel and accommodation).
  6. Your safety is important to us but participants are reminded that outdoor activities are an assumed risk activity. Therefore, in order to ensure your own and others safety you are expected to follow the safety instructions given by the Leader. Attention is drawn to the British Mountaineering Council’s (BMC) Participation Statement reproduced below.
  7. The Provider reserves the right and discretion to make changes to activities and programmes, both before the Activity and after the Activity has commenced, as a result of adverse weather and impending conditions, solely at the discretion of the Leader.
  8. All accidents & injuries, however minor, must be reported to the Leader immediately and properly documented. The Provider can take no liability for any incident not so reported.
  9. The Provider reserves the right to refuse participation to participants that the Leader believe to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs and in such circumstances no refund will be given.
  10. Please advise the Leader of any disability or medical condition including current medication prior to starting your activity. A completed Health Form will be required from all participants prior to the commencement of the Activity.
  11. The Provider regrets that bookings cannot be taken from under 18 year olds unless accompanied by their parent or legal guardian

Securing Your Activity / Course:
A minimum deposit of 25% of the activity fee secures your booking, subject to a minimum deposit of £5. The outstanding balance is to be paid 14 days prior to commencement of your activity.

Cheques made payable to Mark Wormald.

Card Payments can be accepted via PayPal email money transfer services.

 

Privacy policy:
Your personal information will be kept secure by us and not shared with third parties unless legally compelled so to do.
However, in the event of an Accident or Other Incident, any information that will aid the emergency services will be shared with them.
 
Insurance:
While Mark Wormald is insured for Civil Liability, you are advised to obtain your own personal travel insurance. Suitable insurance can be obtained from the BMC and there currently is a link on the front page of their website. It is suggested that the Trek Category is the minimum level considered, but this is not to be considered "Advice". There is a link to the BMC's website on the Links Page of this site.
 
BMC Statement of Participation:
The BMC recognises that climbing
and mountaineering are activities with
a danger of personal injury or death.
Participants in these activities should
be aware of and accept these risks
and be responsible for their own
actions and involvement
